PSA Head Census Area Supervisor Maria Rizaly Agustin facilitates the training for field personnel in August this year

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) deploys 109 field personnel in this town for the census of population and housing (CPH), which started September 1 until September 29.

PSA Head Census Area Supervisor Maria Rizaly A. Agustin, on Wednesday, said that the Field Personnel is now scattered in 38 barangays throughout Buhi.

Census personnel was provided with the necessary PPE materials such as face masks, face shield, and alcohol as safety precautions against COVID-19, says Agustin.

The field interviewers also instructed on the strict adherence to the health safety protocols, Agustin explained.

Agustin also said that last month, they conducted three batches of training here in Buhi.

The 2020 CPH is a nationwide government undertaking that involves the collection, compilation, evaluation, analysis, publication, and dissemination of data on population count, and housing, household, and barangay characteristics. It will be the 15th Census of population and 7th Census of housing in the Philippines.

The 2020 CPH aims to provide the government planners, policymakers, and administrators with population and housing data as a basis for the crafting of social and economic development plans, policies, and programs for better service delivery and improved quality of life of the Filipino people.

Meanwhile, the last PSA census conducted in 2015 shows that Buhi has a population of 77,143 with 17,261 households.
