The Sanggunian Bayan (SB) passed a resolution Monday authorizing Mayor Margarita Aguinillo to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) for the implementation of the Philippine Identification system (PhilSys) in this town.
Republic Act No. 11055 (RA 11055) created the PhilSys for the establishment of a single national identification system to register all Filipinos and resident aliens of the nation.
Based on RA 11055, PSA is vested with the authority to implement PhilSys and empowered it to collaborate with Local Government Units (LGUs) to ensure the registration and enrollment of all citizens and resident aliens, including Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples and those located in remote barangays.
The responsibilities of the LGU-Buhi includes the mobilization of all required resources for the pre-registration and registration activities such as but not limited to registration area/space, electrical supply, storage area for the registration kits, physical security in the registration area, storage area, and the personnel to be deployed therein as well as the necessary crowd queue management and control.
Meanwhile, the PSA deploys 109 field personnel in this town for the census of population and housing (CPH), which started last September 1 and still on-going.
