The Rural Health Unit-1 (RHU-1) in Buhi town in Camarines Sur province was temporarily shut down starting Tuesday, September 29, after a health worker infected by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The Local Government of Buhi (LGU-Buhi) announces on its Facebook page that the health unit would be close to the public until the laboratory test results of all health workers and staff members were known.
Local health authorities have been conducting an aggressive contact tracing to prevent the spread of the virus.
The authorities have advised the public under the RHU-1 seeking medical attention to get treatment at their respective barangay health stations.
On Monday, the local government reported that a health worker had been infected by the SARS-Cov2, which causes COVID-19.
The patient tagged as Bicol # 1854, a 48-year-old woman, has no travel history.
The report did not provide details on how the patient contracted the disease.
Before the result of the latest validated virus carrier came out, Buhi had eight recorded COVID-19 cases. Six of them had recovered, and two others died.
