The Department of Education (DepEd) has issued guidelines for student grading and assessment and the updated school calendar, ahead of the anticipated opening of primary education classes tomorrow, October 5.
According to DepEd Order No. 30, series of 2020, classes will start on October 5 and end on June 11, 2021.
DepEd Order No. 31, on the other hand, enumerated the new interim guidelines for student learning assessment and for the grading scheme to be adopted for the school year 2020-2021.
Copies of the orders were posted on the department’s official social media page today, October 4.
As an incentive, DepEd will give out a total of ₱1,500 incentive to about 880,000 public school teachers on October 5, in time for the celebration of Teachers’ Day and school year opening.
Through Department Order No. 029-2020, the Education Department will grant ₱1,000 as the World Teachers’ Day Incentive Benefit.
DepEd issued other guidelines mandating all public school teachers to receive an additional ₱500 to cover their medical test expenses to ensure their safety amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
