The town of Buhi posted 3 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), as of Tuesday morning, and was also able to record 1 coronavirus-related fatality.

This was disclosed by the Local Government of Buhi (LGU-Buhi), which reported that the latest fatality was an 87-year-old male from Sta. Elena, tagged as Bicol # 2028, died in a hospital last Sunday evening.

That brought the total number of fatalities in the municipality due to COVID-19 to 3.

The new cases were a 46-year-old male businessman-farmer from Tambo tagged as Bicol # 2110, a 50-year-old male tricycle driver from Sta. Elena (Bicol # 2113) and a 9-year-old girl also from Sta. Elena (Bicol # 2114).

Bicol # 2110 onset of illness was on October 6, and his history of exposure is yet to be verified.

Bicol # 2113 is a Locally Stranded Individual (LSI) who traveled from Marilao, Bulacan, and arrived in Buhi on August 18 and was immediately admitted by the LGU-Buhi quarantine facility until September 1.

Bicol # 2114 is the daughter of Bicol #2113, who traveled along with his father, quarantined, and contracted the deadly disease.

Both father and daughter are now at the Camarines Sur Provincial Medical Center’s isolation facility in Bula for treatment.

Meanwhile, LGU-Buhi imposed a lockdown at Zone 3 in Barangay Sta. Elena since Friday, October 9, where infection of COVID-19 recorded now at 5 with 1 death.
