Former Mayor Rey Lacoste distributes food packs to residents of Sta. Elena affected by New Year’s Day flood.

The provincial government of Camarines Sur distributed relief goods in flooded areas of Buhi on New Year’s Day.

The recipient were from barangays San Pedro, San Pascual, San Buena and Sta. Elena of poblacion barangays and barangays Sta. Cruz, Ipil, Iraya and Ibayugan of lake barangays.

According to Sta. Elena barangay councilmen Iboy Polvorido, all affected families received 5 kilos of rice.

The former mayor of Buhi Rey Lacoste facilitated the relief goods distribution in Governor Migz Villafuerte‘s place with the province’s  EDMERO headed by Che Bermejo, said Polvorido.

One recipient said that “kaskas a responde ni Gov Migz, dawa pong taon aktibo” (Gov Migz responded so quickly that even on New Year’s day he is working).  

The Buhi town greeted the New Year with heavy rains and floods caused by tail-end of frontal system.
